I too would like to see this question answered. I am having the same problem. I have used Dupe Eliminator successfully when an external HD was connected directly to my computer via USB, but it will not recognize that I have an installation of iTunes when my library is hosted by a network HD. It would be very nice if Dupe Eliminator would find an iTunes library on an external HD or could be directed to look at a particular location.
Do you find this valuable?

Same here. I have itunes and use it daily, yet dupe can't find it. And it doesn't give me an option to direct it to the file. I suspect its because I'm using Windows7 and some of my files got moved to libraries instead of typical locations. However, based on previous posts I'd say Dupe would be well-served to add a function to allow users to direct Dupe where to search. Do you find this valuable?
